They look good and smell so sweet.

Never forget the beauty of the small things right in front of you.

Never forget the beauty of the small things right in front of you.

I would like to leave the last word to Aunt Mary Ellen, who read us  this poem on her 80th birthday, and which I thought of as we hiked today.  I think this sums up the attitude of the group:

Whether the weather be fine

Or whether the weather be not,

Whether the weather be cold,

Or whether the weather be hot.

We’ll weather the weather ,

Whatever the weather,

Whether we like it or not!

Thank, everyone for your upbeat spirits and waterproof good cheer!

(Note: winners will be announced at the next hike.  If you wish to try to influence the voting, I accept envelopes stuffed with cash, $50 and $100 bills only)
